Tom Morello “learned 250 songs” before his first tour with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. The Rage Against The Machine guitarist – who was part of the ‘Born To Run’ musician’s legendary touring group from 2008 to 2015 – admitted he still felt unprepared for the frontman’s habit of taking random requests from the audience. Responding to a fan asking about the “initiation ritual” for the band, he told Uncut magazine: “The E Street Band was one of the greatest live rock bands in the world for 40 years before I played with them, so my main job was not to ruin a perfectly good thing. “I learned 250 songs before departing for the first tour, so I guess that would be the induction. And still it wasn’t enough. “Bruce would often surprise us by taking requests from the crowd – and sometimes they weren’t even Bruce Springsteen…

Those ’80s workout videos had a really cool aesthetic I wanted to import into this video.” Shakira can be seen surf skating in the video and said: “it’s a fairly new thing that I’m totally passionate about and something I do a couple of times a week. “Some of the takes in this video were at three or four in the morning and I was skating for like two hours so they could capture the best shots. Sir Elton John has praised Damon Albarn as a “special” songwriter. The 73-year-old singer has collaborated with a number of different artists this year but the most important for him was playing piano and lending vocals on ‘The Pink Phantom’ for Gorillaz’ latest project ‘Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez’ because he enjoyed working with the frontman so much. He said: “This year I’ve worked with Ozzy Osbourne, Lady Gaga, Surfaces and a Charlie Puth track that hasn’t come out yet. “I’ve been in a Teyana Taylor video. But Damon really is special. He’s someone who I really, really admire.” The ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ hitmaker hailed Damon a “British jewel” for his diverse body of work and throwing himself into projects that interest him, rather than focusing on what will be commercially successful. He told Record Collector magazine: “When you see what he’s done, when you compare him and…

Chadwick Boseman‘s ‘Black Panther’ performance was too “iconic” to be recast. The 43-year-old actor tragically passed away in August following a secret four-year battle with colon cancer, and Marvel boss Kevin Feige has insisted the “immensely talented” star will not be replaced as King T’Challa in the upcoming ‘Black Panther’ sequel because his performance in the first movie was so powerful. Speaking at Disney’s Investor Day summit on Thursday (10.12.20), Kevin told attendees: “I wanted to acknowledge the devastating loss of a dear friend and member of the Marvel Studios family. “Chadwick Boseman was an immensely talented actor and an inspirational individual who affected all of our lives professionally and personally. His portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic and transcends iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past. And it’s for that reason that we will not recast the character.” But the studio boss is…
